Winter Snowflake EDITABLE Sight Word Mazes

I love finding new and engaging ways to practice sight words. This time, I've turned practicing sight words into a game with these Winter Snowflake EDITABLE Sight Word Mazes.

What makes them editable you might ask? Well, that means you can add any list of words and the mazes will be created for you. Yes, you read that right. You will simply type in 10 words your students need to work on (they don't even have to be sight words - think vocabulary, spelling words, student names, etc.) and the mazes will autopopulate with each of those words being the "focus word" for one of the mazes.

Using these editable sight word mazes couldn't be easier. Type the words in. Watch the mazes autofill with just the words you want your students to work on.

Then have your students work their way through the maze starting at the top and looking for a snowflake that is touching the first one that has the focus sight word for that maze. They will continue to work their way through the maze from start to end by finding the focus sight word snowflake that is touching the one they just colored.

Help with Adding Words to the Maze

This free sight word maze comes with directions for how to type words in and auto fill the mazes. If you need a little help, check out this video for step by step directions and ideas for use. It also shows how to change the font and the font size.

You can use these mazes a few different ways. Here are my 3 favorite.

1. Color using crayons or colored pencils
2. Use dot (bingo) markers to dot the way through the maze
3. Laminate or put in a reusable plastic sleeve and either color with dry erase markers or use mini erasers to cover each space.
