Spring Color by Sight Word

Preview: Free printable spring color by sight word practice pages. Perfect activity  for kindergarten, first grade or even preschool. 

Sight words. One of those concepts that can always use more practice and review. How about some seasonal sight word practice?  Even better!!! I created some (free) spring themed color by sight word pages to make practicing sight words a little more fun this spring. And let's be honest, I'm so over the snow that is still on the ground and just want to think about SPRING!!!

My kiddos were beyond excited to color these pages. I figured my 6 year old would be able to recognize many of the sight words and actually find and color them. She could read all the color words, but we still went through and colored the crayons at the top as a guide for her so she knew which color each sight word in the picture should be.

She did a good job finding all the words and coloring them correctly. She was a little tired from being in school all day so she rushed through some of her coloring (mostly because she didn't want little sister to get the pictures she wanted to color as if I couldn't print more.)

I was shocked at how well my 4 year old did with this. I read her the color words and she colored in the crayons at the top as a guide. Even though she couldn't read the sight words, she did a great job looking for a match to the guide at the top.

She made a few mistakes along the way but for the most part did an awesome job for not being able to actually read any of it.

They were both so focused on this and wanted a chance to color all five of the pictures. I ended up printing out three sets because they just wanted to keep coloring. That's a win in my book!!

I tried to include different sight words on each page to reach a variety of ability levels. Each page practices 6 or 7 words and some of the pages (like the one below) include visually similar words like than and then and come and some, so that students have to really pay attention to what they are doing.
