Catholic Saint Research Reports for Kids

Help your students research 78 Catholic saints with these easy to use trifold reports. Includes a FREE SAMPLE of saints with feast days in May.
Researching our friends, the saints in heaven, is a great way for Catholic kids to learn about the men and women who chose to follow God in all that they did. They are examples to us all, and we can each identify with different saints for different reasons.

I wanted to find a way to make researching the saints fun but simple. I created these trifold brochures to use as mini reports. They help guide the students in their research, so they know what they are looking for - birth date, canonization date, patronage, fun facts, etc.

I even pulled 6 of the saints and made a free sample for teachers and parents who want to try it out first, without committing to the whole product that includes 78 saints. Keep reading to find out more!

What is included on the reports?

The brochure includes:

  • Date of birth
  • Date of death
  • Canonization
  • Feast day
  • Patron of
  • Known for
  • Virtues & Character Traits
  • Location
  • Map to color in location
  • 5 interesting facts
  • Write a prayer

Some of these items might be easier to find and research than others, depending on what saint you are researching. It is designed to be open-ended, yet give students some structure to follow and guide their research.

How to use Catholic Saint Brochure Reports

There are so many ways to use these brochure reports. These are just a few suggestions, but the sky is the limit.

  • Fill them out together as a class as you learn about a new saint/saint of the day
  • Assign students a different saint to research and this can be their "report" that they write
  • Create a wax museum where students research and dress like a saint, the brochures could be given out during presentations
  • Independent research
  • Small group project
  • Monthly projects (pull out just the saints that have feast days in a given month)
  • Guess my saint - have students research and share about their saint and other students guess who they are talking about
  • Bulletin board or hallway display

What could we use to research Catholic saints for kids?

Sometimes it is a challenge to find resources about saints that are at a kid friendly level. Could they just do an internet search? Absolutely, but depending on the age of your students, it could be difficult to weed out some websites and find something that kids would understand. I have a few starting points for you.

In this post, I included some of our Favorite Saint Books for Kids. These are all books that have more than one saint in them, so the information for each saint is generally short and contained to one page. Some saints have entire books devoted to them, and if you do some searching, you might be able to find some that were written for children.

Another great way to get started is to watch videos. I rounded up a few good saints videos in this post. We also really like the Stories of Saints for Kids. You can find them on their YouTube channel and some are on Amazon. They have a HUGE assortment of short videos (usually between 6 and 15 minutes) each devoted to a different saint. They have popular, well known saints, but also include some of the lesser known saints. If your students are visual learners, this is a great place to start!

What saints are included?

Catholic saints trifold reports for kids

In the full product, I've included 78 saints. I know that everyone has special devotions to certain saints, but unfortunately I'm limited to the clip art that I've purchased and the creator is no longer making saint clip art, so I'm stuck at 78. But I did include an editable page that could be used with ANY saint. It just wouldn't have the clip art picture on the front page, but you could draw a picture in that space.
