Do you use graphic organizers in your classroom? Graphic organizers are a way for students to organize their thoughts and share their understanding about a text that they've read or listened to. I recently updated my graphic organizers pack and wanted to share some of the updates. Each organizer got a font and graphic makeover. I also added 10 new organizers. There is also now digital versions for those paperless classrooms that rely on iPads or other tablets. Check out some of the pictures below to see the graphic organizers up close.

If you bought this product before I updated it, you will want to redownload it. I added several new graphic organizers most of which are designed to be used with nonfiction text. These will help students share their learning, document their unanswered questions and dig deeper into the text.

How to Use the Digital Graphic Organizers

All of the paper versions of the graphic organizers are also available in a digital format. They are saved as picture files and sized to work with the app PicCollage. This is a free photo editing app but you can pay to remove the ads and watermarks.

The basic directions for using this in a digital format are to put the graphic organizers on your students' devices using Airdrop, Dropbox, etc. Then, they will open PicCollage, click Freestyle and then select the graphic organizer they want to use. Next, they will double click on the picture and select set as background. Now they can fill out the organizer using the add text feature. They will save the finished product. Then if you use Seesaw or another digital learning portfolio, students can upload the saved picture for you to look over. For more detailed instructions, check out the video below.
