Monday Made It Monday : Baby Shower

I'm linking up again with Tara at 4th Grade Frolics for another round of Monday Made It.  This edition is all related to baby shower ideas.  We had my sister's baby shower this past weekend, so I was busy creating things for that.
Up first is a simple banner I made.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to do the entire thing.  For the white letters, I used adhesive card stock.  That makes it super simple and no need to glue or tape to stick the letters on.  I used baker's twine to string it together and washi tape to hold it to the mantle.

For my sister's gift, I made a New Mom Survival kit.  It included a lot of my favorites and must haves from when my girls were little.  Some of the items were on her registry (since I did her registry with her) and some were not.  I don't know that I could pull off this gift for just anyone but for my little sister, it worked perfectly.  Apparently I forgot to take a picture of the gift from the front.  I didn't wrap anything, just stuck the stuff in and attached a sign that said New Mom Survival Kit.  I included The Baby Whisperer Answers All Your Questions (my go to mommy book), nursing pads and gel soothers, a white noise machine, a swaddler blanket, a bottle of wine and one of the girls' favorite board books, Where Is Spot?

I decided to do a paint your own onesie station.  The teacher in me was anticipating people saying they weren't creative enough or couldn't do it so I was ready.  I typed up directions and tips and put them in frames I already had around the house.  I even printed out pictures to give them ideas of simple designs they could do.  I also used my Silhouette Cameo and the Silhouette Stencil Material to make some easy stencils.  I found some basic outline shapes in the Silhouette store that would work.  Some people used the stencils, some people made their own design, and some did a combination of the two.  There were a few people who didn't do it and MANY people that said oh I'm not creative but I showed them all the tools and they figured it out.

My sister in law used the Nintendo remote control stencil and then free painted to add the other colors and cord.  So cute!

My daughter did a total free style onesie for her new cousin.

Overall, I was happy with how they came out.  I have a lot of extra supplies so I can make onesies for the new babies in our life for the next few years.  I figure you can never have enough onesies and if you don't love the design, you can wear it under something else.  I am waiting for them to dry for 24 hours and then I need to take an iron to them to seal in the paint and then they should be good to go.
